Milwaukee Cast Iron Woodworking Vises

If you'd rather have a metal vise on your bench, these are the ones I point people to. They're made by the Milwaukee Tool & Equipment Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in business since 1877: heavy cast iron with steel Acme screws, made in USA.

• Quick Release Bench Vise: a complete vise in 7" or 10" jaw widths. Add your own wood jaw faces.
• Leg and Tail Vise Screw: the screw and cast iron hardware for a leg or tail vise. You make the chop.
• Shoulder and Wagon Vise Screw: the same screw with a connector plate, for a shoulder or wagon vise.

The vise screws also work well for veneer presses, cider presses and other shop builds.
